📣Call for abstracts ! 📣

We are excited to announce that the call for abstracts for the third edition of JJBA is now open ! If you’re a young researcher in bioacoustics looking to present your work in a friendly yet serious setting, without the pressure of large academic events, this call is for you !

General information: JJBA will be held in 📍Vernon (Normandy, France) from 🗓June 24th to June 26th, 2025. To provide an opportunity for as many young participants as possible, 💶registration costs are kept at 20 euros.

👨‍🎓Who can participate? We aim to highlight the work of young researchers, so interns, PhD students, postdocs, and researchers employed for less than five years are welcome!

🗣What will be the format? Presentations can take two forms: oral presentations (~10 minutes + questions) or posters. Multiple poster sessions will be held throughout the event. Both oral presentations and posters should be in English.

Participants can submit their abstracts until April 6, 2025 via the abstract submission form here : 




📝General instructions for the submission : 
The abstract should be written in English and contain a maximum of 300 words.
Please include your name, affiliation(s), and those of all co-authors.
Include one or more keyword(s) from the following list, that best describe your research: | comparative bioacoustics, biological production and perception of sound, ecoacoustics, passive acoustic monitoring, human speech communication, psychoacoustics,signal processing, modeling of acoustic propagation in various media, application of bioacoustics, acoustic sensor arrays for biological research, anthropophonic impact on biodiversity. | Please note that we welcome all types of bioacoustic studies, so if you don’t find a fitting keyword, feel free to add your own!
Please indicate your preferred presentation format (oral presentation or poster).

👨‍🏫As in previous editions, four workshops are planned: one on popularization and artistic approaches, another on setting up playback experiments, a third on the growing use of AI in our field, and the last on ethics in bioacoustics. You can indicate your interest in the submission form ! If you'd like to organize a workshop on a specific theme, please let us know !
